The sun is shining. The weather is warmer. And so, naturally, at LONDNR HQ we decided it was just the right time to lock people up together in a dark basement room. At this gathering, which we’re calling SECRET CEREMONY, guests are encouraged to stay collectively silent whilst witnessing a special recording.
So basically, we’re launching a film club.
The first two screenings will take place in June (watch this space!) and, whilst I won’t be revealing much more yet, those who are really keen can sign-up to our dedicated film newsletter here:
Meanwhile, rest assured that all your questions like, ‘Why is it called SECRET CEREMONY?’, ‘What kind of films will you be showing?’, and ‘Why should I care?!’ will be answered tout suite in next week’s instalment of this newsletter.
Whilst I won’t be revealing any more right now, I will give you another clue by rerunning this deeply evocative and visceral piece:
A Colour of Many Connotations: Red
If you’re looking for something a little less mysterious today, you’re out of luck. Our second piece of the week is all about Christopher Mills, a LONDNR columnist & creative enigma. Event Architect: Meet Christopher Mills
‘Perfectly quaffed hair, purposefully mismatched rings, and wrapped up in a bold, vintage ensemble—if the word ‘fabulous’ could sprout legs and saunter out of the Oxford English Dictionary, Christopher Mills is just about what you’d picture…’ KEEP READING
A Final Word…
Occasionally, we like to highlight some of our favourite spots in the city. For those of you who’d like a recommendation from a friendly human instead of the algorithm gods - you’ve hit the jackpot. (These are not ads, and have not been paid for).
Three Sheets, Soho
This perfect little cocktail nook only opened in spring, but it comes with a hefty legacy. Their sister venue, The Dalston Three Sheets, has been going since 2016 and made it onto the World’s Best Bars list in 2020.
What you’ll get in Soho is a slick operation, with some of the most perfect drinks under the sun. The crowded intimacy of the space adds to a feeling that exciting things might happen, and interesting conversations will be struck up with strangers. Or at least, that’s what happens to us every time.
